Predictions
Once again we face a Presidential election of extreme importance. Re-electing Bush in 2004 only pushed the critical decision forward 4 years. The last similar election was in 1964, an election that resulted in the Vietnam War and a huge increase in the welfare state that is still with us.
If Obama is elected, the risk of North Korea and especially Iran becoming nuclear powers will increase enormously. In fact, the risk from Iran will be so great that Israel might well launch a pre-emptive strike BEFORE Obama takes office.
If Obama is elected, appeasement of terrorists will become the policy of the United States. The subsequent increase of terrorist activity will lead to the inevitable use of a nuclear device by the terrorists. The target of that attack will be either the United States or Israel. If Israel, they will retaliate against Arab capitals that very day. If the US, it will take a little longer, but the public will demand and get a nuclear response as well.
If Obama is elected, his Iraq policy will undermine the government there to the extent that in the end a militant Islamic government will be installed in Baghdad. The Saudi royals will see the writing on the wall or be toppled from power. Other gulf states will fall one by one, until all are in the hands of the radical mullahs. Result: control of the world oil supply in militant hands. Obama (or his successor) will be forced to send US forces back to the region. This time the war will be about oil, and we may not win.
If Obama is elected, the politics of hate and fear will be emboldened to the point that any remaining civil discourse will be drowned out. We are already past the point where the important issues - Social Security, Crime, Medical care, immigration, even the war on terror - can be discussed without scare tactics and personal attacks. It will get much worse.
If Obama is elected, the MSM bias will win an enormous victory. They will have successfully promoted a man who otherwise would still be a very junior Senator to the highest office in the land. All pretense of an unbiased press will be abandoned. The government will then press to eliminate the ‘new media’ and talk radio through regulation, leaving the far left in total control of information in this country.
If Obama is elected, every American taxpayer will pay more taxes, both directly and in the higher costs of goods and services. The democrats will not be able to resist the opportunity to enact their long held wish to ‘sock it to the rich’ and reinstitute the welfare state, even in the face of the coming recession. The economic result will be devastating.
If Obama is elected, the federal government will take control of health care in this country. Now imagine an organization with all the skill of the Postal Service and the Transportation Safety Administration in control of doctors and hospitals. Imagine airport like lines at doctor’s offices. Imagine Nurses all members of the government workers union. Imagine lab reports with the same accuracy as mail delivery.
If Obama is elected, the activist judges he appoints will move the country further away from traditional values. They will find constitutional mandates for everything from gay 'marriage' to taxing churches. At the very least, the older liberal members of the court will depart, allowing Obama to replace them with others who will prolong the current madness many years into the future. If for some reason one of the conservative judges should leave, the court would move far to the left.
