Not So Terrible Week

I had an actually fairly terrible week last week, coming back from out of town for a week with a week to pull off a major campus musical event, but I have survived. The prez's week was a little better, as you can read here.

Cheney Throwing Stones at Democrats?

This article is classic MSM journalism.

It's about Cheney being mean and attacking people. The focus? His comments this week about Charlie Rangel "losing it". Rangel, of course, this week said of Cheney, who has had recent heart trouble, "I would like to believe he's sick rather than just mean and evil". He also called Bush the "Bull Connor" of our era.

Note there was no story on Rangel's comments, or the million other vitriolic things said about the president or vice-president.

Just Cheney's response with a full recitation of anything else that Cheney has said in six years. The man can't respond when a US Congressman calls him mean and evil?

Where's the balance?

Uh, we built it and its ours!

This story features the EU and other governments complaining that the US has ultimate control over the internet. We of course recall the internet was created as part of a pentagon project and we paid to get it started.

Remember the old saying about the Panama canal?

We built, it's ours!

Policy Trumps Scandal

Though I doubt somehow that he reads my blog, Bill Kristol has also chimed in about the 1994 elections, and covers some of the same terrain which I spoke about in this post. He also talks about Bush's poll bounce amid the ethics bs of the week about Delay and Frist.
